Its a ‘HOLI’ gud song ‘n’ so say all of us

Posted On:03.12.2017

Holi Hai! Music. Dance. Colours is what would be the best way to describe this festival. And before someone points it out we haven’t missed the “gujiya” or the “thandai” and not to forget, especially for those adventurous “been there” “tried it” kinds, we know as well that a “bhaang” can fire-up the tempo 😉

From your society & neighbourhood splashes to those extravagantly hyped pool parties or farm house specials; the singular motto remains “Colours alone do not maketh a Holi Complete” for celebrations without music is never acceptable. And when it comes to Music or rather Holi Music if you haven’t got one of the below Localturnon recommended songs in your play-list you are culpable for destroying the hol(y)i spirit!

Balam Pichkari Jo tune

No Holi party is complete – without the crowd swaying to the rhythm of this song and two – without bhang thandai or vice-versa. You see, it is like a vicious circle (wink). So get on your feet and shed some kilos without that Sharma Aunty coaxing into it 😉 Come on Man! you gotta be seriously from another planet if this one doesn’t move ur holi spirit.

Rang barse

First – the lyrics are in our heart, mind n soul like its an anthem for Holi. How can we ever forget this legendary song dancing to the tunes of which our dad’s chased our mom’s during Holi. So are you ready for some latke, jhatke and thumkas? Cheers to the memorable music to which we grew up listening to.

Holi khele raghuveera

Okay, so does every famous Holi song feature Mr. Bachchan? Well, we are not sure whether Mr. Bachchan’s presence made it such a huge hit but nevertheless we are all set to dance to the beats of this energetic song this Holi. Let’s get up can hit the dance floor commencing our dance with a few of Mr. Bachchan’s legendary dance moves.

Aaj Na chhodenge

Let us leave this song for our naughty love birds to dance ahem…mingle on and let them renew their bond with their significant other on this colourful occasion while we cool singles can show off our dance moves to the other songs on the list with the canvas of our body heavily painted with Gulaal of various colours.

Ang se Ang lagana

Hmm.. and we are now thinking ourselves …does every song need a description. True that this is one more of those “can’t be forgotten” holi numbers so why do we need to go into the details. All it needs is few gujiyas, chips, drinks and we are all set for a scintillating, applaud-able encore requests for this.

Soni Soni

Remember those college days when music and dance was the life of every party be it Holi, Diwali or Dandiya nights. Let us relieve those days and bend, twist to the tempo of this song this Holi.

Saat rang mein khel rahen hain

Aha… seventh song on this list and the song actually begins with Saat (7). This song is so full of fun and frolic that its music puts you in the festive mood instantly. After all holi is all about teases, colour-full bonding with the known and unknowns.

While these are our recommended song list for Holi, if you have a favourite and its not up-here, we have the perfect excuse during this time of the season and it goes as … Bura Na mano Holi hai 🙂 But on a more humble note we hope and pray that whichever song you select for your celebrations may the colours of peace, togetherness and joy fill all our lives !

Localturnon wishes you and your loved ones a very joyous, melodious and rocking Holi for if there is one festival that sees a perfect confluence of Music, Dance and Colours its Holi. Turn on music, Turn on dance, turn on Colours!
