VYOM – Band of the Week

Posted On:07.03.2016

What is the history of the band – how did it come into being, members, its journey (in brief) and what does the name of your band signify?

The band was formed by the manager of the band “Sohan Masih” and his colleague in the year 2012. Then we searched other members for the band. Then they both called some of their other friends to join the band.

Then we decided the name of the band as VYOM which means “SKY”. The purpose of keeping the name VYOM, is that sky has no limit, and we also want to make our music like no limits.
Of all the songs you’ve created, which is your favorite one and why ?

Our songs list: Pagal Samjha Hai Mujhey, Jungle Ka Raja, Dharm, Tumse To Hai, Remake of Pyar Humein Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya (Rock Version). Also our favourite is : Dharm because telling a big problem of our country.

Can you share about some funny incident that happened on-stage / during performance / with you or the other band members ?

Yes – we have Laxman in the band as our lead guitarist. He is a very talented guitarist. But he is also a very funny person. He takes so much time to understand our thoughts for the performance. Also whenever we go on-stage to perform it invariably happens that his guitar always gets damaged before starting the performance. We have also created many good guitar leads in our recordings but he always forgets what he have created (winking).

So who are your favorites/ Icons/ Role Models in the field of music?

There are many talented bands and solo artists in the Industry. We have mentioned here some of our favourite names: Raghu Dixit Project, Indian Ocean, Kailasa, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, AR Rehman, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Agni etc.

Do you have any interesting fan stories to tell?

We have many fans in our list but no story like to tell 🙂

Do your songs carry a message / a theme or a story ..if so can you share more on it?

We have composed two songs : DHARM and JUNGLE KA RAJA. Dharm is all about our four religions and we have tried to give a message to our nation and to our people that we have to live united. The other one Jungle Ka Raja talks about our national animal tiger and the importance to protect it.

How has the musical journey been so far for you / your band and what are you looking forward to ?
This journey sometimes becomes very painful as you know that the bands have to struggle so much. But our main focus is to compose good musical songs. Songs which can be heard by lot of people and we have through our music also tried to change people’s mentality and want to make them aware about humanity & love. Soon we will be coming out with our romantic love album “Aa Mere Paas”. Do keep a lookout for this one as we are sure you will like it!
Do you have any words of advice for youngsters who want to form their own bands or are thinking of getting into this line ?

Our advise is that you should always do your BEST!
